Accreditation and Continuing Professional Development

 

 

Do you need additional accredited training towards accreditation with professional bodies such as the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), or the National Counselling Society (NCS) or equivalant? If so, here at JMC we offer single units of training either for this purpose, or towards continuing professional development (CPD). Below is a short synopsis of each module we have on offer; all of which can be delivered at YOUR center; each module is 50 hours training duration, and can be delivered hourly, daily, weekly or monthly etc according to your group's needs!

 

Working with Trauma:

 

This unit will provide candidates with an informed knowledge and understanding of the effects of traumatic experiences in different contexts and their effect upon individuals.

 

Working with Addictions:

 

This unit will provide skills, knowledge and understanding for candidates who are working, or intend to work with drugs, alcohol or other forms of addiction.

 

Helping Children & Young People:

 

This unit will provide candidates with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed for this special area of practice. It will consider the particular issues counsellors confront when working with children and young people.This unit will provide candidates with the skills, knowledge and understanding needed for this special area of practice.

 

Solution Focused Brief Therapy: 

 

This unit will provide candidates with insights, knowledge and understanding of Brief Therapy skills and techniques, and consider its effectiveness within the spectrum of counselling theories and models.

 

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy:

 

This unit will provide the candidate with an opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of Cognitive-Behavioural Theory and concepts, and its application to counselling practice.

 

Skills for Supervision:

 

This unit will provide candidates with knowledge and understanding of the need and value of supervision in developing and maintaining a safe, responsible and reflective practice.

 

Working with Couples:

 

This unit will provide candidates with the skills, knowledge and understanding of working with couples, and how different counselling theories may affect both the process and outcome of counselling.

 

Theories of Loss & Grief:



This unit will provide candidates with knowledge of some of the key theories relevant to working with loss and grief. The unit also seeks to link the theories to the different models/schools of counselling.
