The AIM Level 6 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision is intended primarily for one year part-time study in association with candidates’ live therapeutic counselling Supervision practice work with Supervisees. Full-time or block release course arrangements may also be suitable, subject to the condition that candidates are ‘in practice’ and are able to comply with AIM’s placement conditions, as specified  herein, regarding minimum hours of work with Supervisees, whilst at the same time maintaining their own ongoing personal Supervision. The Level 6 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision is designed to show that successful candidates have achieved generic personal and professional standards in both intellectual and practical skills, which are at least those propounded by the leading professional bodies and standard-setting organisations for therapeutic counselling Supervisors. Therefore, in completing this qualification, successful candidates can achieve all of the training elements towards their individual professional recognition as a therapeutic counselling Supervisor, and work towards professional accreditation in this role through a professional body, e.g. British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the National Counselling Society (NCS)

The aims of the Level 6 Diploma in Counselling Supervision are to:

• enable candidates to develop essential theoretical understanding of counselling Supervision as well as to practise skills and techniques essential to therapeutic counselling Supervision. Candidates will learn how to monitor and support supervisees' in a formal practice setting, where they will be able to practise and develop skills necessary to complete the Level 6 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision and to locate these skills and theory within an established ethical framework, for example, the BACP or NCS.

There are four modules, please see specifications below:
