DIPLOMA IN COUNSELLING
This Diploma provides
opportunities for critical self-reflection and enables learners to work towards producing a research proposal. The proposal will cover the field of counselling research and the methodological approaches to enquiry to assess and evaluate the practice of counselling and/or a topic relevant to the field.
Learners will embark on practice working within an ethical framework and develop an understanding of the need for and value of supervision in counselling practice. Learners must also undertake research and develop a business plan to establish, develop, and maintain a private counselling practice.
This qualification is aimed at learners whose qualification goal is to achieve professional status in
counselling.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: To qualify to apply for this qualification, candidates MUST hold the following:
1. A level 4 Diploma in Counselling was taught through an accredited training provider, i.e., a private training provider,
college, or university.
2. As an integral part of your level 4 Diploma, you attended class in a face-to-face teaching environment and were in
placement for a minimum of 100 hours of practice, which was clinically supervised monthly. Please note: we cannot accept online courses.
If you have not completed the above, please refer to our two-year part-time or one-year full-time level 4 accredited Diploma in
Counselling Practice. Further information can be found on our website at:

Unfortunately, we cannot accept qualifications in any other discipline, including teaching, psychology, sociology, social work, or
training completed within the care sector other than counselling.
